The aim of the visit is to provide students with opportunities to use oral French at an advanced level, as well as to experience at first-hand many aspects of French culture. Students will receive 16 lessons (12 hours) of intensive French tuition at a French language school, called Accent Français. This is an ideal opportunity for pupils who are taking IB and A-Level French to be immersed in the language for a week, an experience that we strongly urge all students to undertake.

Students will enjoy a wide range of cultural experiences based in the historic town of Montpellier. In addition, they will visit Nimes and its historical Amphitheatre. We will also see the breath-taking Pont-du-Gard and go to the medieval city of Aigues-Mortes. Students will have the opportunity to try French cuisine, through a cooking lesson with Star Chef Armand Layachi. A separate evening of wine tasting and local specialities as well as a cinema evening is to be enjoyed.

The attached letter, which has already been sent to Sixth Form parents, gives further details.
