Saturday, 21st April  11.00am – 12.00pm: Art History Classroom

Adam Rattray, Head of Art History, will show you how to look at paintings and sculptures, at how light, colour, form and composition combine to make a work of art. He will draw his examples from a range of artists, from Caravaggio to Cezanne, from Michelangelo to Warhol. His approach will be entertaining rather than serious, so rather than Adam giving a formal lecture, he will work together with the group to decode and analyse some famous examples of western art. So if you are interested in knowing how Picasso broke the Renaissance tradition, or how Masaccio and Giotto set it up, please come to our Parent Art History Talks
